If you are seeking Labrador breeders then look no further!
We have been Labrador breeders for many years, and accumulated significant experience and knowledge, having also been dog breeders for other breeds previously.
Our Labrador breeding philosophy is aimed at being able to offer quality Labrador puppies, that are happy and healthy, and that will be a treat to have as a part of your family for many years. While the physical characteristics or 'look' of puppies are important, we also believe that great personality is one of the main attributes that we also aim for our puppies to possess. Especially as we understand that most of our puppies are 'adopted' into families with children.
In fact, that is how we first started with Labradors! When the eldest of our four children was about six year of age, and having had dogs as parts of our lives for many years prior to having children, we wanted to get a puppy for our daughter that we felt would be a great addition to the family, and that we could also trust with our daughter. So, we 'adopted' our first purebred Labrador Retriever, Jedda.
Jedda was a fantastic puppy and dog, and we soon realised many of her qualities, and started to attend dog shows, just as observers, taking particular note of the Labradors. There, we became aware what a great looking dog she was too, so we started to enter dog shows.
It wasn't long before we started bringing home blue ribbons, and it was about then that another Labrador breeder suggested that maybe we should consider Labrador breeding, which we did.
So, we did lots of research, spoke to other Labrador breeders, and then ventured into breeding Labradors.
Many years later, the joy of being Labrador breeders is still abundant!
Besides the pleasure that the puppies bring to other families after 'adoption', we have also found that our children greatly enjoy the experiences involved with Labrador breeding. The children assist in many ways, from birth right through to adoption, and especially in helping to socialise the pups and assisting them in learning how to interact with children.
You may not realise how important this is? But we too have adopted Labradors, and from various other Labrador breeders, and we have found that some puppies have not known how to interact with children, with the puppies demonstrating various symptoms, such as fear, etc. This is not surprising, as the actions of children are very different to that of adults (eg their size, their noise, their speed, eg running, etc). So we feel it is important for the pups to be well socialised with children prior to being adopted.
